Of the 47,729 citizens living in Bedford County in 2021, 80.3% were old enough to vote, equating to 38,333 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.

Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 18,996 were male, constituting 49.6%, and 19,337 were female, making up 50.4%.

The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Bedford County during 2021 was higher than the state average, which stands at 79.1%.
