This event is hybrid – you can attend online, or you can join us in-person at the library! Registration (RSVP) is preferred, but not required.
Meet other English language learners for conversation practice. We’ll ask and answer questions on various seasonal topics, often presented in short readings; learn new vocabulary and review pronunciation.
Moderator Christine Telfer has over 15 years of experience teaching ESL to immigrants, visitors, and refugees from all over the world, mostly within Allegheny Intermediate Unit’s Adult ESL program, though she has worked with other organizations as well.
Christine gained her initial experience in the field as a Peace Corps volunteer in Bulgaria, where she taught English as a Foreign Language, so she has a sense of what it’s like to grapple with a new language and different culture. She finds it rewarding to help those who are doing likewise here.
