Park Elementary School issued the following announcement on Aug. 19.
Kindergarteners and new students had an awesome time at Meet the Principal Night! Dr. Shaughnesy asked the boys and girls about their summers and filled them in on what life is like at Park Elementary School. They talked about important rules, all of the great things they'll be learning this year, the super-nice teachers they're going to have, and so much more.
Afterwards, the kids had a chance to make some new friends out on the playground while Dr. Shaughnessy talked to their parents about adult-stuff they'd find boring. Some of their parents found it boring too, but Dr. Shaughnessy wouldn't let them go out and play! Special thanks to the PTO for volunteering to watch the children on the playground. The PTO always goes above-and-beyond to make the school a better place!
The night ended with students and parents taking a walk through the building and checking out the classrooms. Everyone's looking forward to getting the school year started - it' going to be wonderful!!!
