The March Community Meeting was held on Wednesday at Barrett Elementary. This month's meeting focused on a number of academic updates, including regular curriculum reviews and the status of a couple of pilot programs. Other updates included new information on the progress of initiatives through the Pittsburgh Study, such as the Expect Respect, Creating Peace and Justice Discipline programs. Coro Pittsburgh came by to share an initial plan for a Steel Valley Stronger: Day of Community that would bring together all three boroughs to connect and collaborate with the district.

Finally, Christine Scott pulled back the curtain on the development of the Steel Valley Grows Garden and how it utilizes partnerships and grants to be a year-round educational tool and resource for the district. Those who attended were able to sample some recipes inspired by what's grown in the garden as well as take plants home with them.
