The high school welcomed eighth grade students from Dickson Preparatory STEAM Academy today to give them a glimpse of what to expect when they arrive as high school students in the fall.
Along with a tour of the building, the eighth graders had a chance to sit down with high school student ambassadors and ask them questions about their experience. The high school students answered questions about scheduling, class workload, sports and activities, and - of course - how to make sure they don't get lost in the halls!
All of the high school activities, clubs and athletic programs were on hand in the gymnasium to provide more information about what their activity is about and to encourage the eighth graders to join for the fall. This was a great opportunity for students to begin to explore their interests, something that they will be able to pursue in earnest in the fall.
Guidance counselors and high school staff were also on hand to answer additional questions to help prepare the eighth graders for their transition and to encourage them to get their high school experience started off right!
