Woodland Hills School District establishes leadership team for 2022-23 school year, hires building principals for high school, middle school

The Woodland Hills School District has established its leadership team for the 2022-23 school year and has hired building principals for the high school and Dickson Preparatory STEAM Academy. The hires were approved by the Woodland Hills School District Board of School Directors during a special legislative meeting held on Thursday, July 14, 2022.

Shelly Manns and Berchman Grinage, Jr. have been hired as co-principals at Woodland Hills High School. Ms. Manns served as the interim high school principal for the 2021-22 school year and will have a concentrated focus on 11th and 12th grade. Mr. Grinage comes to Woodland Hills from Pittsburgh Public Schools and will have a focus on 9th and 10th grade. Rounding out the high school administration will be Assistant Principal Marisa Bragg, Assistant Principal Michelle Collins, Assistant to the Director of Pupil Personnel Marlon Youngblood, and Dean of Students Timothy Brown. Mr. Brown comes to Woodland Hills from the McKeesport Area School District while Ms. Bragg, Ms. Collins and Mr. Youngblood were part of the high school team last year.

Kristin Scott has been hired as the new middle school principal at Dickson Preparatory STEAM Academy. Ms. Scott was previously the principal at Propel McKeesport. Joining her staff will be Assistant Principal Joshua Manning and Dean of Instruction Allyson Teti. Mr. Manning and Ms. Teti were also formerly part of Ms. Scott’s administration team at Propel McKeesport.

Woodland Hills also announced the hiring of Rosa Valenzuala-Gonzalez as the district’s Health Resources and Bilingual School Coordinator. Ms. Valenzuala-Gonzalez comes to Woodland Hills after serving as a contractor in the district with Adagio Health.

The school board also approved changes to the administrative team under Superintendent Dr. Daniel Castagna. Angel Boyd has been named Assistant to the Superintendent of Human Resources/Chief of Staff, Dr. Pamela White has been appointed Assistant to the Superintendent of Administrative Services, Eddie Willson has been named Assistant to the Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, and Charmayne Gather has been appointed Coordinator of Administrator Services. Ms. Boyd was previously the district’s Human Resources Director, Ms. White was previously the administrator of the Woodland Hills Online Academy and an assistant principal at the high school, Mr. Willson was previously the Curriculum Director, and Ms. Gather was most recently an assistant principal at Dickson Preparatory STEAM Academy.

The Woodland Hills School District is a public school district in Allegheny County that serves the communities of Braddock, Braddock Hills, Chalfant, Churchill, East Pittsburgh, Edgewood, Forest Hills, North Braddock, Rankin, Swissvale, Turtle Creek, and Wilkins Township.
